YOUTH ACADEMY
Big Bethel operates an after-school and summer youth outreach program which provides tutorial services for grades 3 to 12 in the areas of English, science and mathematics. The Youth Advocacy Program (YAP), initiated in 2009, targets economically and socially disadvantaged youth in the downtown Atlanta, Georgia area. Activities include: tutorial programs, mentor/mentee relationship building, local fieldtrips and recreational outreach. YAP serves 30-40 weekly participants during the academic year and 50-75 weekly participants during the summer timeframe. YAP has ongoing partnerships with Bethel Towers (low-income high-rise apartment housing), Georgia State University and the Waffle House Foundation
